Charle Vintage Ceramic Dip Bowl

A charming vintage studio stoneware chip and dip set, comprising a generous rimmed platter and a matching nestled center bowl, both in a warm speckled sandy glaze with freehand brushed grape cluster and leaf motifs in iron oxide. The grape clusters were painted directly onto the raw glaze before firing, burning through to a warm brown during the high-temperature kiln firing. The speckled stoneware body and loose, gestural brushwork are hallmarks of the craft revival tradition of the 1960s–80s. A practical and beautifully made set that works as well for entertaining today as the day it was made
